Dr. Merchant is a proud graduate of Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry and has been part of the Ideal Dental family ever since. Raised in a family of dentists and driven by a lifelong passion for science, Dr. Merchant knew early on that dentistry was the perfect blend of his interests and values.
He began his academic journey at Southern Methodist University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Prior to dental school, Dr. Merchant worked in the Dental Sterilization Department at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, gaining firsthand exposure to the dental profession while interacting closely with students and faculty. That experience further confirmed his calling to pursue dentistry.
Dr. Merchant finds dentistry uniquely rewarding, as it allows him to combine his love of science with a genuine desire to help others. His daily goal is to provide high-quality, comprehensive dental care while ensuring every patient feels comfortable, confident, and happy with their smile.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Merchant’s greatest pride is being a “girl dad.” He and his wife, Amber, are the parents of two incredible daughters who are his greatest source of joy and motivation. When he’s not spending time with his family, he’s following all things football—especially cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
